Graphic Design for a custom PC building company

My Role

After moving back to New York, I was determined to solidify my career in design. I first turned to what I had the most experience in, graphic design. Using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, I focused my energy towards building trust and relationships with various clients and honed my ability to translate visions and inspiration into effective, beautiful designs. I created engravings for custom PCs, brand assets for both internal use and for clients, and marketing / social media materials.

Custom PC Designs

In order to create a custom engraving, I first had to discuss with the client what their inspiration or idea was, then translate it to a flat binary image. Using the contrast between the white engraving and the negative space, we depicted a variety of characters, symbols, and celebrities.

Logos and Branding

When Jaxon Bieber approached Paradox, he was seeking a custom PC and a logo package to start streaming. I had the opportunity to approach him and discuss potential concepts, color schemes, and moods.

I gave him a handful of low-fidelity examples (pictured right), and he provided feedback. He loved the shield, but wanted a more modern symbol than a sword, a phantom from his favorite video game, Valorant. I was able to stylize and present him with two higher quality options, of which he chose the left, the Reaver skin. I was able to package this asset and a few coordinating pieces and he happily streamed for a year.

He even returned months later seeking me for his newest idea, a haircare line targeted for boys his age.

Social Media Assets

Paradox Customs relied heavily on their presence online for sales. Streamers, athletes, and celebrities would buy a PC, and we would build it on stream for them. We’d then promote the PC along with other gaming accessories alongside relevant current events, and gamers would be drawn to buy their own custom builds.

As a part of the content team, I played a hand in the branding of our social media. I created banners for Youtube, Facebook, and what’s now X, as well as Instagram stories, advertisements, and gaming news updates.

Thumbnails

I would also help to create thumbnails that were catered to the Youtube algorithm, highlighting either the influencer we were building or a particular product we were sponsored by.

I also had the privilege of working to design a custom controller, sold now.
